Billing for Office Visits and Coumadin Checks:

All office visits and Coumadin checks will be billed through Orlando Health Physician Group for services rendered. This will be a separate bill for the services rendered by the physician or allied staff.

Billing for Diagnostic Testing in the office:

All diagnostic testing done at Orlando Heart Center’s offices will now be billed by Orlando Health. Because the testing facility is now owned by Orlando Health, the hospital may bill a “facility fee” for diagnostic testing. You will receive a bill from the hospital for the facility fee.  This fee covers the cost of the clinic space, supplies and other items.  You will also receive a separate bill from Orlando Health Physician Group which includes the physician’s time and services for the interpretation of testing performed in the clinic. Previously, this would have been on one combined bill from Orlando Heart Center, now you will receive two separate charges.  The hospital and the physician will both bill your current insurance.  Please remember to bring your insurance card to every visit for verification.

Co-Pays:

If your insurance plan requires a co-pay for outpatient hospital clinic visits, please be prepared to pay at the time of your visit.

Deductible/Co-Insurance:

Since Orlando Heart Center is now considered an outpatient clinic, which is a hospital department, depending on your insurance carrier you may be responsible for paying a higher out-of-pocket amount in the form of your deductible and/or co-insurance. Please make sure to contact your insurance plan prior to the appointment so that you are aware of your plan’s hospital deductible and/or co-insurance.  Since insurance plan deductibles and co-insurances vary in price, it is extremely important for you to understand your financial responsibility.

Referrals or Authorizations:

If your insurance plan requires a written referral or authorization from your primary care physician, you must bring it with you or have it sent to our office prior to your visit. Without it, your appointment may have to be rescheduled.
